That must be my emerging theme for this blog for the next couple months. Brief and random. Works for me, I hope it works for you.
Let's start with our library pick of the week:

Super cute book. Caldecott Winner. Wonderful book about being grateful for what you have and making the most of it.
This morning's yummy creation:
Molasses pancakes (sneaking in some iron) with apple topping.
Surprise of the week:
Caught me by surprise. Fun for the kids to watch out the window.
In educating ourselves:
Mr. Rob led us in a lesson drawing scarecrows. Sorry I don't have a picture of the scarecrows. Very cute they were. Plugging away in long subtraction for math. Learning about ancient Sparta for history (the boys totally dig it). Memorizing and writing the poem "Trees." And other stuff.
Plans for the rest of the week:
My clan is running off and leaving me for the weekend. :) I haven't had the time to be excited for myself yet. I'm pretty sure it will be nice, though haven't made an huge plans. Probably mostly I'll be getting things done and resting. I am kinda nervous for Doug. The three by himself on the road. One and a half are sick. Oh, please pray for a smooth weekend for him, will you?
All my love,
Ruthie
My comments disappeared...rats. Love it all as usual. Cute pics, and cute kids. Love the drawing by Mr. Rob on TV and the boys drawing a Scarecrow...Gabe is looking dapper in that hat!
