Outside my window . . .
Cloudy and coldish (I think, I haven't been out). As I drive to my appointments I've been enjoying the deep orange colors in the leaves. Outdoor beauty is such a refresher.
I'm listening to . . .
Basil's commentary as I write this. He's been at my elbow all morning being Mr. Helpful. The other two are building a "fortress" in the living room corner. (ie. making a tremendous mess)
In the kitchen . . .
The hubs and I are teaming up. I write the menus, he's doing the grocery shopping, we cook together, he cleans up.
Near the garden . . . (I'm certainly not in the garden)
Near the garden is the "new" swing set. It is one of my daily joys to look out the window and see the kids playing together. I love seeing Nutmeg swing on her tummy back and forth, back and forth. So sweet.
On my nightstand . .
Just finished another Louisa May Alcott book, "Old Fashioned Girl." I'm taking the kids to the library this morning for another stack of books. Hopefully I'll find something for myself as well.
Baby growing . . .
Yep, growing, growing, growing. Lots of BIG movements in there. More contractions. It's getting close.
The kids and I are reading . . .
"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum. This has become our highlight of the day! We are breezing through it so quickly because its so much fun. I see there are a number of others in the series, we might just check those out too.
Plans for the rest of the week and beyond . . .
So sorry I don't have pictures to share. Or anything new and exciting to share. Holding pattern here I suppose. It's pretty basic around here. Keep the family fed, keep the house in some semblance of order, get the learning in (Dad's been helping a bit), go to appointments.
Today Doug is doing all the shopping. I have him running around to a number of different places. I'll take the kids to the library while he's out. Then he'll come home to work on the garage and other projects. It's kind of a "get 'er done" philosophy these days.
Next week we look forward to Nutmeg's birthday. It will be a simple affair but we'll do our best to honor our little princess. She'll be four! Wow! I definitely see that in her. She is such a big girl now. They grow up too fast sometimes!
I love it! sounds like school is going great! And Ms. Nutmeg is pretty helpful!. (vacuuming in her bathing suit was such a total crackup) and all the cooking stuff she likes to do. So the boys love your science methods and I do too! I did hands on as much a possible when I taught in school or with my kiddos. I am wondering if I should give the kids swiffers so they will like dusting for you and for their own rooms..... Works well... Now I need to Skype to sing to this little man so he will know me like the others did! Your hubs is turning into the superman he always wanted to be ...LOL. I am impressed...and I did tell him early on to treat girls nicely. He seems to have always done that.
ReplyDeleteBlessings for each day....
