A New Project: Thanksgiving
I must admit I haven't read this whole book. It is a life-changing book and idea. The idea of thanksgiving. To live in gratitude. To recognize the thousands of gifts we are given in our life. To name them and in return, thanking the Giver of those gifts. I've got to get back to reading this book. In the meantime, I'll start naming my thousands of gifts and remembering my Creator.
1. God met me in the Scriptures this morning. Today's reading: "Martha, Martha . . . " Yes, I know. I'm a Martha. But I needn't beat myself up about it. The life of faith isn't just a few big choices now and then. It is many, many choices. "Lord, what can I do right now to grow closer to you?" And then the refrain from the Psalms "Guide me, Lord, in the everlasting way." Perfect timing that message.
2. A miraclous shopping trip with my 3 little ones. Truly.
3. Very timely and kind strangers.
4. An old truth is learned yet again.
5. A peaceful moment found in learning to draw.
