Aaww, sweet moment. Just had one of those. This morning I am cleaning up the kitchen to the music of the "Lullabye" station on Pandora. A real sweet song comes on, "Over the Rainbow" by that Hawaiian singer Israel something-or-other. I start dancing with sweet little Mace who is strapped to the front of me. Sage at the table brightens up with a smile and giggles. I tell him to come over and I start dancing with two of my sweethearts. Sage just eats it up in his shy, happy way. I look down at him and he's got tears in his eyes. Sweetness. Sometimes that kid is older than he knows. Or I know.
Sweet moments. But we've had PLENTY of really rough moments this week too. It seems we've got plenty of both lately. Comes with the territory, I suppose. Our time is stretched thinner but not our hearts. I do agree with the sentiment that when another child arrives, he or she doesn't take up more room in your heart. A heart's capacity for love only stretches all the more. I feel it. I see it on his siblings' faces. They are learning love lessons. It's beautiful. I'm thankful.
Anywho, another sweet moment pictured here. Daddy and daughter dancing to "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" by Van Morrison.
Doug and I got to go out on a date last Sunday. We got to drop off the kids with a bunch of their friends and go out for a bit by ourselves. Before we left on our date, all of us adults met for a bit and discussed marriage and were given homework. We filled out "25 Ways to Love My Spouse." We filled out 25 ways our spouse could love us and gave it to the other. We now have them hanging up in our bathroom. Lots of good discussion starters there.
It's been a full week. I hope yours has been full too. Have I told you lately that I love YOU? I do. I'm so thankful for our dear friends and family.
OH, how precious...moments with each child, and they show love! Sage is very sensitive and aware and loved the song and the mom! Basil sure shows love for his little brother the way he looks at him...so gentle...And nutmeg dancing with dad is super sweet. The outfit is pure Nutmeg. I do recognize the scarf on her head that I gave her long ago...She has put it to use! Now Dad with Mace on his chest sleeping/napping is priceless. Mace has a grip on his shirt, I think! if so, he is grasping well! Clearly he likes the baby carrier and anyone's chest...the sibling noise must wear him out!
