We had a nice day celebrating the birthday of our country. We are certainly blessed to live in this great country. But nothing stays great on accident. That reminds me! I have a letter to write. CRPD is trying to make a comeback in the Senate for the THIRD time! Time to write our good senator to tell him that we appreciate his efforts to oppose this treaty and to please carry on the good work.
Oh and its my mom's birthday TODAY! We had to call and sing her a loud and boisterous Happy Birthday! My mom is such a great lady. I agree with how my niece put it, she has a big heart. She just gives and gives. I only hope the blessing comes back ten fold.
Earlier in the week the kids and I went strawberry picking. Our only time out this year. Hopefully next year we can get out more but I suppose next year I'll have a toddler that will probably walk all over the strawberry plants. :) We picked enough to eat a bit, freeze several bags, and use for our 4th of July dessert. Yum! Pinterest rocks it yet again. Super easy and delish dessert. Recipe here.
We grilled dinner, cleaned up, and then headed into town to watch the fireworks at the high school. We ended up sitting right next to this awesome family that we rarely see but love and admire. Providential timing. This family warmly welcomed us to Wisconsin. As strangers they threw a big welcome party for our family. They have nine children (wow!) and he is actually my chiropractor. He helped me get through the later part of my pregnancy. So it was good to chat and let our kids roll down the hill together all night.
Now let the rest of the weekend commence. Yay! Doug got a long bike ride in this morning with a co-worker and I also got in a shorter bike ride. Groceries are bought. I am hoping we can get in a family hike or bike ride this weekend.
And sometime soon we need to start tackling the LONG list of projects around the house and yard. Here's to hoping the motivation will kick in soon.
Happy Weekend to ya'll!! All our love.
Wow! Love ever single pic here! The berry picking is great! Now I notice a little bit of brown in Maces's eyes....I pay attention now...Doug's eyes did not fully turn until 18 months ! gotta have brown eyes somewhere...our last hope! LOL
