First Week of Advent

Hello!

Well, I have had it on my mind all week to write some meaningful reflections to share here. I've been mulling some things over in my mind and heart this first week of Advent but just haven't found a small space of time to sit down to write. I actually had a post started a couple days ago but wasn't able to finish it. I'd like to begin again but I have a feeling that the same scenario would play out. I've been lost as to where my time has gone. The only thing I can come up with is the almost 12 month old cutie around these parts. When he isn't wanting mommy to hold him, he is getting into everything! Pulling things out of the cabinets. In the dishwasher throwing silverware on the floor. Pulling books off the bookcase and throwing them on the floor. You name it, he's there. Or he's pulling on mommy's legs. So I think I  may have to resign myself to simply posting pictures (if I get a chance to take any) and adding a few lines to them for the time being. Perhaps meaningful reflections will come in six months. I hope.

One book to unwrap for each day of Advent.

Doug snagged a picture of one of our first books.

Nutmeg sets up the scene and Mace knocks it all over the floor. Well, it looks nice when he's asleep anyhow. ;)

I LOVE to see the arrangements they come up with. Here they are all crowded around the baby Jesus. Just as it should be. :) Once I saw them all lined up waiting to see the baby Jesus.

I was so happy to put together a new arrangement for our Advent candles this year.

They are LOVING the Lego Advent calendar that Aunt R sent!

Food, food, food!!

Gorgeous art.

We had several tough days this week. The grumpies were taking over! So we went for a walk to reset the system. It worked! Yay for fresh air and Vitamin D!

We've really enjoyed this book.

We had a very nice St. Nicholas Day (December 6th), which began with a big breakfast.

The big boys have been going skiing often these days, so Nutmeg and I went out for a little date of our own. We love our girl dates! We went for a horse and carriage ride in downtown Baraboo and then went to a coffee shop for games and hot chocolate.

  1. Love all these pics, and how Sage and Nutmeg are really ready for those pancakes...They are all growing leaps and bounds. Mr. Mace is sadly liked his dad was at this age. Into everything and changing anything he can. Even Basil cannot keep him down. Alas, grandma may be a shadow for Mr. Mace and try to get him to do things differently with a gentle voice and show him some better ideas...Have no idea if it will work...Distraction may still be the best way. Is he a garbage lover? His dad was that.

Is he a garbage lover? That was my biggest problem with my little boy! LOVED garbage. EWWWW!
