Museum Day

Thursday we drove to Milwaukee for a visit to the Milwaukee Public Museum. Basil and I have been wanting to visit the museum for quite some time. For the past three years we have been studying the ancient world, so it felt a bit like a celebration of these past three years to actually see some artifacts from the ancient world. Of course, it was equally interesting to enjoy the museum for its offerings in regards to the natural world as well. It was an exciting excursion for all of us. Even Mace.

Looking at various types of cells.

Poor Mace was terrified of this portion of the dinosaur exhibit.

This year we studied ancient Rome, so here we are checking out a Roman soldier's helmet.

Enjoying a break with some overpriced treats. Yum!

Basil has been passionate lately about rocks and minerals, so we spent a good deal of time in the geology areas.

ooooohh, what IS this fascinating thing over here?

  1. The expression on their faces tells this was a lot of new and exciting things...except for the scary part for Mace. Ah, escalators is surely a new thing! I knew Basil is into rocks...as he gave me a special bag of them last visit which of course I am saving!
