Birthday Girl
Today was Nutmeg's sixth birthday. Six!! Ack! Can you believe it?
Seems like just yesterday we were in Spokane. My mom took us out to dinner in Idaho at our favorite pizza restaurant and then early the next morning I went into labor. Our doula met us at the hospital and we experienced out first VBAC birth. Success!
We had a ball with our little baby girl! By the time nine months rolled around her exuberant personality was beginning to blossom. She was such a fun baby and toddler. Her personality has only grown more bubbly and enthusiastic these last few years. Doug and I love to listen to her talk. We love the way she uses her hands when she talks and jumps feet first into life. Her brothers might roll their eyes but we love to listen to her sing. She puts her heart and soul into her songs.
We thank God for our little lady!
We all had a nice, relaxed day today. This morning Nutmeg woke up to a decorated kitchen for breakfast. We had pumpkin pancakes, sausage, and first for breakfast. She opened a few cards and a little pack of sparkly barrettes. We went to church on Saturday night, so after a leisurely breakfast Nutmeg and I went on a double date. We met our friends (mother and daughter) at Panera. We had such a lovely time snacking, coloring, playing games and chatting.
After the coffee shop I took Nutmeg to the store to pick out a little gift for herself. We found quite the deal! After that we met at our friends' house to meet up with all the boys. After some more hang out time, we headed home. Nutmeg picked out our dinner for tonight off Pinterest. Italian Wedding Soup. It was very good. For dessert we had some brownies and ice cream.
Twas a good weekend.

How adorable! I love her matching dress and doll ! It is good she had time to spend with a friend too ! I so remember the day she was born, and I was at a play and at the end I said that I need to get home because I think my granddaughter was born! And indeed she was! It was a little after 5 pm here but 3:12 in Spokane. I got to come out there in a few weeks, and boy she was so alert and busy. I remember going to a gym and I kept her while you all went swimming. Everyone came over to see her and commented on her amazing skills at just s few weeks old. She rolled over, which was unheard of at her young age!! HAPPY SIXTH BIRTHDAY Emily! You are very gifted and smart!
