Carrot Success

I'm all proud for two reasons. One: I am getting my second post of the week up.  Yay me. (Does two pictures and a couple sentences count?)  Two: these carrots!! Yay garden!

I went out to the garden for a second today to see if I could get a little kale for lunch. I also checked on our carrots. It's been on my list forever to finally dig them out. I knew they could stay in the ground a while but I wondered if I had waited too long. Were they starting to rot? Would it be so cold that they would be stuck in the ground?

They were great! The biggest we've ever grown! I know it sounds silly. Of course, they are the biggest. We've waited the longest to get them out of the ground. Well, that extra time really did them some good. They were not so big last time I saw them. Those warm spells must have just right.

This is only half of what I found out there. Wahoo!  And to think I've been buying farm-grown from the natural food stores. Now we won't have to buy for a while. Whoppee. ;)  I did get some kale too.

And in other news ..  . Mace is turning out to be a real terror. He learns from the best.  :)

  1. Oh my goodness!!! Great looking carrots! I was thinking of carrots at Christmas.I will do my best to find the best at Caputo's. Oh course, you do wash them off, right?? tee hee. Now how Mace got in that position without falling out the window is amazing...but the look on his face is priceless..just grab his hair! Gabe has been such a good sport with Max from the day he was born..With getting him up after Maces first nap and changing diapers well was incredible! He came and got me as I was there and said "Come on Grandma, we are going to get Mace up now." and then he brought him to Mom after we were done fussing over him... .I just wrote to a friend to try answering on the comments...cause she loves the blog and the pics and the whole family....Now this pic is going to make Maces last picture in his special album he will get to have in about 20 years! Super cute.
