Snapshots of Goodness

Life feels crazy and chaotic to me oftentimes. Usually during the day when I run this three ring circus but then I remember that every household with children has its own three ring circus of sorts. It's going to be busy and crazy so no matter what, so I might as well fully embrace our brand of crazy beauty. Getting my eyes behind a camera helps me to focus in on the beauty all around me. So I'm working on keeping the camera close at hand. Here's a few captures from our lives these past few days.

Nutmeg and I made up these neat games for Mace. He's quite good at them but the problem is that he doesn't
keep at them for any length of time unless someone is right next to him. That's tough since we are all busy with other tasks. We'll keep trying though; sometimes someone will be a available to take a few minutes to play with him.

The point is to match the uppercase and lowercase letters. Normally I wouldn't do this with a two year old but
he's fascinated by numbers and letters. So we go with it.

Coloring matching with buttons.

This made me smile because it demonstrates Nutmeg's girly side. Precious. Setting up her spot at the table with the "essentials."  We call this chair her "Goldilocks chair."  I will show you a picture of our table and chairs when I get a minute.

So grateful Doug took the time the other night to make 24 cups of pear sauce with me.

All set for Morning Time.

Working in our cool new Medieval Knights and Armor Coloring Book.

Oh, I wanted to show you the selection from the boys' handwriting and studied dictation for the week. On Friday I read it to them aloud and they write it down. A spelling test.  Combining history with all subjects makes me happy. Integration. I put a copy of Song of Roland on hold at the library this morning. Maybe I can make some time to read it.

Here it is:  (the beginning; the next few weeks we will finish the rest of the code.)

"Code of Chivalry from the Song of Roland

-to keep faith.
-at all times to speak the truth.
-to persevere to the end in any enterprise begun.
-to respect the honour of women.
-never to refuse a challenge from an equal.
-never to turn the back upon a foe. "
