Quick Monday Check-In

Hi ya'll,

I have a few pictures from our recent field trips I thought I'd pop in and share real quick.

What are we up to in the meantime? We FINALLY got some snow!  Oh please, oh please let it stick around! Nutmeg and I got out for another ski yesterday. (And that was after swimming. Nutmeg's poor little arms were tired!)  We do a have a trail that we can drive to in seven minutes. They don't groom it but it works fine for a beginner skier who is doing classic skiing. And actually Nutmeg is trying out skiing on our property right now. We have enough snow that she should be able to make some nice classic tracks and then just do some laps around the yard. I'm so pleased that she's enjoying this new hobby.

We've all been doing some swimming as well. Doug gets out several times a week but we also go as a family once or twice a weekend as well. Basil is excited for spring swim clinic to start.  Alrighty, well there is more that I could probably share but I'm going to load up these pics and get started on lunch dishes.

Two weeks ago we visited The Chazen Museum of Art. We've been there before several times but Basil was enthusiastic to get back, so we did. We enjoy being on the UW when classes are in session. It's an interesting experience for the kids to see all the students bustling about.

We enjoyed running across things in the museum that we've read about it our studies. Yay for making connections!

We read about St. Brenden the Navigator when we studied the early explorers at the end of last year and this beginning of this year.

Nathan Hale: American history.

We read about Theseus and the Minotaur in Tanglewood Tales a couple years ago. Greek history.

Last week I surprised the kids with a visit to the Bolz Conservatory. It was the perfect outing on a cold day!

The boys always enjoy a good opportunity to try out their cameras.

The vanilla plant is the vine, not the tree.

Kumquat.

Walking Tree on the right.

I forgot the name of this orange but it a hybrid of mandarin orange and kumquat.

Mace spotted this one.
