I've gotten to that "busy" place again where I am not taking many pictures. And if I do, they tend to be of food or school stuff. Boorriingg! I gotta get on it again. The kids (all of us really) love to look through our Shutterfly albums that I make twice a year. Shoot! I'm not going to have enough pics if I don't get on it. It's funny. I don't know why it happens. I don't have any babies or toddlers right now, so I "should" have more time. I guess I'm just "busy" in different sorts of ways. I don't know what it is that keeps my so busy but life just rolls right along somehow. I guess jumping back and forth between teenage years, elementary life, and pre-school needs. I think part of it is also that I do try to not be glued to the screen as much as possible. And taking pics and uploading them tend to lead one back the screen. But like I said, the kids really love having the memories recorded, so I'll keep working on getting back to that place of having the camera at hand.
So here I am with more food and school pictures. Maybe next month I can bring some added variety to this place.
The school and food pics are of mostly of Mace's Alphabet Adventures and our "adventures" around the world. Mace is almost done with his alphabet fun. Just "Y" week and "Z" week left! Wowzers!! After that I'm thinking I'll break out the phonics book to start him on some structured reading lessons. He's growing up so quickly! They all are.

This was SO GOOD! We will definitely have again but I believe I changed the sauce
a bit and used a different recipe for that. Mace and I explored the Asian grocery store to find the main sauce ingredient. |

The kids loved these meat pies. |
Brazil

Brazilian lunch bowl. Not sure where the dinner pic went. |
Peru
Argentina
(no dinner pic: Chimichurri burger)
We also did Chile but I'm not finding a book or food pic for Chile. Here's are only picture of Cuba so far. We are "in" Cuba this week. We watched the Geography Now video with Dad tonight and will continue reading and watching things this week. Cuban recipes are easy to come by, so we have a number of Cuban meals on the menu this week. Yum!

Arroz con Pollo
Q is for q-tip, queen, quilt, and quiet!
R is for roads, rhymes, rainbow, rain, and robots.
S is for Saint Sebastian, shapes, and SNOW!
"Snow crystals" made from Borax.
T is for trees . . .
Well, it is time for bed!!! But I still have these pictures to put for you and they aren't moving around so easily. So I'm going to leave this little note for ya'll and leave them haphazard. You forgive me, right?! :) Mama's got to get to bed! School in the morning!
U was for underwater, underground, and umbrella.
V was for vegetables!
W was for weather and waffles.
X was for X-ray and "X marks the spot!"
"X marks the spot" was great fun for all! I bought Mace a little nerf gun for a prize. The boys drew a treasure map, put together a treasure chest with the gun and other treasures. Then they went out a buried the treasure (all in secret). Nutmeg dressed him up as a pirate. Then I introduced the activity to Mace. Oh, how thrilling it was! Mace was so excited he was trembling!
Nutmeg is motivated to learn in the kitchen. She has been helping me more often these days. Last week she helped find a new recipe, Chia Seed Banana Bread. She's going to keep making that recipe until she can do it all by herself, then on to greater heights.
Nutmeg is also on a space unit right now for science. She is keeping a nightly moon diary. Here's a little hands-on moon phases activity she did a couple weeks ago.
