Yesterday

We started off the day with some mental math, handwriting, and getting dinner in the crock pot. Wowzers. 30-40 peeled garlic cloves.

Nutmeg helped.

Then we headed out for a few errands. We went to one of our little grocery stores here. Old school, let me tell you.  We met this neat elderly man who is a US Marines vet. The kids rode the wild hog for a nickel. A nickel!

We bought some popcorn and a drink and headed out to play on nature's playground.

We are thinking that these are crow tracks. Think so?

Look mom, its a "J"

Have a blessed day!

Side Note: I think I'll go back through the menu posts and comment on what we liked and didn't care for too much.

  1. A ride for 5 cents is what it was when I was young in the late 40's. Nutmeg peeling and chopping garlic is pretty heroic. I would have quit because my eyes were running. She is good helper! Basil is fearless, playing on frozen ice. I would have been Sage...heading for safe ground. Crow tracks I think...I notice to the left it looks like a Chinese doll..Do you see it? Always have a big stick for protection, Nutmeg...LOL Now that is a J!! Is it a frozen fish or something????
Love all these. I have a folder of them. this blog is warm, interesting and newsy...

  2. We didn't chop the garlic cloves, we just peeled them and put them in the crock pot whole.
