Plugging Along

Goodness, I'm not doing so well with keeping up with my posts. Mama is sssllloooooowing down. Life continues to be busy with doctor's appointments, chiropractor appointments, church events, work events, homeschooling stuff, home repairs, getting ready for baby errands, etc. but between all that I'm not doing much else. If I can just put in my sob story . . . my back is just plain killing me. So I try to measure my steps each day. Needless to say there is a lot more stuff lying on the floor these days. I just don't want to bend over. Last night my crew did have a little cleaning party and the house is looking a lot better today.

Enough of the complaining  . . . I must count my blessings, of which there are a lot!!

Here are notes of random things to tell you and also some random things I am thankful for:

  • Nutmeg chopped her hair sometime last night. Doug found a huge slice of hair in the bathroom this morning. And we just had a nice visit to the salon! Her hair was so cute but now there is a big chop missing. Guess she wanted to try the skill out too.
  • Yesterday I was starting to read this excellent article, "Homeschool Blindspots" (I need to finish that one, good food for thought) and the first blindspot was raising our kids according to our own dreams. Big mistake for it to be about us and not their dreams. So at lunch I asked the kids about their dreams. Sage says "My dream is to live next you!" LOL! Well, we'll see what the lad says in about 10 years!
  • We are all so proud of Sage. He isn't the most daring chap in the world. He isn't one for trying new things. The other day at the swimming pool he . . . got the  nerve to jump off the diving board! And then he proceeded to do it fifteen more times. Since then he's been growing by leaps and bounds in the water. Yeah Sage!!
  • Miss Nutmeg has taken to writing her name a bit. I don't push things like that but its been completely self motivated. Yeah Nutmeg!
  • Basil is doing awesome at his long addition and long subtraction. He was such a huge help to us last night and this morning. Asking if there was anything else he could do to help around the house.
  • Thankful for the stunning autumn colors.
  • Thankful for a good family trip to Trader Joe's. I love their apple cider.
  • Thankful for yummy healthy meals for baby and I (yes, me and food again). We had a wonderful sausage pumpkin pasta last night! Yummers!
  • Thankful for a healthy beautiful baby girl born to good friends here in town.
  • My husband! Really, he is such a good man. I love him to pieces!
  • My stellar doctor. It's awesome to have someone I completely trust. Doug got to meet her and thinks highly of her as well.
  • My Father in heaven hears my prayers. He cares even about the little stuff. Several specific small answers.
  • I got a nice dress for this fancy dinner Doug and I are going to for . . . $1.06. Wahoo!
  • Got a dresser for baby's room yesterday.
  • Doug fixed the van door! Hallelujah!

And . . . let's see if I can dig up a couple of pics for ya'll.
