Latin:
O Clavis David, et sceptrum domus Israel: qui aperis, et nemo claudit; claudis, et nemo aperit: veni, et educ vinctum de domo carceris, sendentem in tenebris.
Relevant Verse from O Come, O Come Emmanuel:
O come, thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
References in Scripture:
Isaiah 22:22
Revelation 3:7
So have you learned any new Latin words? Or enjoyed finding any derivatives? English derivatives are words that derive their roots from Latin. For example (from above): See the word "domus?" From the context we can see that "domus" means "house," right? A derivative of the word "domus" would be "domestic", as in having to do with the home.
A blurry picture of Basil giving Mace a ride down the hallway. It was so cute!! Wish I could have gotten the camera to cooperate. |
