O Root of Jesse/O Radix Jesse

O Root of Jesse, that stands for an ensign of the people, before whom the kings keep silence and unto whom the Gentiles shall make supplication: come, to deliver us, and tarry not.

Latin:
O Radix Jesse, qui stas in signum populorum, super quem continebunt reges os suum, quem gentes deprecabuntur: veni ad liberandum nos, iam noli tardare.

Relevant verse of O Come, O Come Emmanuel:
O come, O Rod of Jesse free,
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory o'er the grave.

References in Scripture:

"In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious." Isaiah 11:10
Romans 15:12
Revelation 5:5

Few Thoughts:
In my mind I see a great procession of all peoples. Humble peasants and great kings. Tall, dark skinned people from south Sudan. Pale white people from northern climates. Nomads, hunters, and city dwellers. The much loved Jewish peoples but all the nations, the Gentiles too. But they are all respectfully marching behind a great banner. A banner flying with a symbol of Jesus our Messiah. The root of a great tree. A family tree. The family tree of King David, the son of Jesse. We all cry out "Come!" We look forward to the return of the great King of this kingdom. It reminds me so much of Aslan from Narnia.
