Father-Daughter Dance

We are so blessed to belong to a fantastic homeschool group. We rub shoulders with some top-notch families.  There is so much going on with this group that we really have to pick and choose what we will fit in our family schedule.  This year I signed up to help put on the Father-Daughter Dance. I'm so very glad I did! Sign me up for next year!  I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to watch all these wonderful fathers with their precious daughters!

I was in charge of games for the dance. I was a little doubtful as to how interactive the group would be.  I thought there could be a chance that I'd have to do a little coaxing to get the crowd to interact.  Wrong!  Oh my!  The next day Doug and I were discussing how it went and the word "wild" kept coming up.  We finally found the words to describe the evening: wildly joyful. Amazing!

The dads were so loving with their daughters. And what sports too!  They joined in on the spontaneous congo lines and played a mean game of pop-the-other-guy's-balloon-without-getting-mine-popped. Oh the girls though! I heard squeals of delight several times during the night! It was so touching to watch such an age mix too.  Teenagers authentically enjoying the company of little girls. Together.  The dance was two and a half hours but they could have kept it up for at least another hour.

What an evening!  We are blessed and thankful. Here are a handful of pics I stole from the mom doing the picture booth.

We started the dance off with a little swing dance lesson.
