Camping Up North

Dairy-free treat for Mom!

Glass blowing

Doug took a couple days off work last week so that we could do a little fourth of July camping.  I found a state park just south of Madison and reserved it. Or so I thought. Apparently I did something wrong because we had no reservation.  But no matter, it turned out to be a good thing. The forecast was saying rain for one of the nights and several of us are fair-weather campers.  So late one night I looked around the state and found a park with some open spots.  We ended up just south of Duluth.  It was a serendipitous mistake because we had been wanting to visit the Duluth area anyhow.

It was a super trip. Gorgeous weather, refreshing waterfalls, ice cream stops, a swim in Lake Superior for the family fish (Doug), perfect smores, satisfying fish dinners, board games, boardwalk(ing), and topping it off with a Mass at St. Paul's Cathedral on the way back.
