Hey there,
Last week we read, tasted, and crafted our way through Advent and Christmas in Russia, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe. And Turkey . . . I suppose you really can't count Turkey as Eastern Europe. But we lumped that in there too cuz we just had to celebrate Saint Nicholas. I mean Saint Nicholas is just such a great guy! You gotta celebrate God's work through him as well.

My favorite had to be "Baboushka." |
So here's a few pictures from our week for you.

Stockings on December 6th: Saint Nicholas |

Some yummy Turkish burgers from my Around the World Cookbook and Turkish salad.

Nutmeg is really turning into such a little crafter. I love this Matroshka doll ornament. |
|
I had planned for the boys to do a Scandinavian ornament but they opted for these more simple ones. Still, they enjoyed them making these, so I'm happy. Even boys need to learn so sew. |
|
Okay, so maybe this doesn't look too appetizing. I forgot to take a picture and took one of Nutmeg's half eaten bowl. Actually it was quite tasty, healthy, and simple to make. This to represent Scandinavian food. Creamy Leek Salmon Soup (dairy free) |
|
Nutmeg branched off on her own and made this Danish-style ornament. |

Actually this was from this week, December 13th. Feast of Saint Lucy. We had some friends over to enjoy our Lucia bread and celebrations with us. My camera battery died before I as able to get some good pictures but at least I got this one. As you can see, I cut into the bread before I remembered to take a picture. Busy day! Nutmeg has a new white dress and red sash for Lucia this year. |
Love this!!!! Emilyy Lucia in her crown!!!! The ornaments are great! Did the boys sew/ Good!!!!!!!
